Amikihia Knits - Flourish
Each lace motif represents a flower, with the bobbles like the little stamens and pistil inside it. These flowers speak of blooming and flourishing.
Flourish is a set-in sleeve sweater worked from the bottom up. It is cast on at the bottom and a rib hem is worked before the lace pattern is introduced on the front, with stockinette on the back and is worked up the body to the underarm. The front and back are separated at the underarm and worked separately up to the shoulders with shaping for the neckline and German Short rows for the right shoulder. The right front and back shoulders are joined with a three-needle bind-off, then the neckband is worked. The button placket on the left shoulder is picked up and worked including button holes. The short edge of the placket is seamed together with clear photos and instructions to guide. The sleeves are picked up and a short row sleeve cap is worked before knitting down with decreases to a ribbed cuff. The sweater requires blocking and finally buttons being added.
Flourish is intended to be worn with up to 4” / 10 cm of positive ease.
This sample is worked with a strand of fingering weight and a strand of mohair held together, but this could be substituted for one strand of DK weight yarn as long as gauge is met. This is a pattern with the lace pattern charted for the body and an individual chart for each size’s front yoke.
Please note - this is a charted pattern for the lace sections. It is recommended you are comfortable reading charts to make this pattern.
