England’s stunning north-western landscape with its deep blue lakes and sheep-grazed fells inspired this classic worsted-weight yarn made from fine Merino for softness, wool from the English Masham sheep for a beautiful heathered color and Argentinian mohair for strength and luster. Fabrics made from Cumbria are soft yet strong, making it a perfect yarn for everyday knitwear.
“The unique combination creates a fabric with great stitch definition and next-to-skin softness. Choose from shades inspired by the mood, light and places of the UK’s North West.” – The Knitter, Issue 145
A note from Get Flocked: We love the meterage and the flexibility of the gauge on Cumbria. The three ply construction is both round and even giving excellent stitch definition and makes it especially suited to cables. There is strong pattern support for Cumbria with projects of every type for every knitter, the link is included below. If you are an adventurous knitter seeking a challenge we highly recommend Kote by Hiroko Payne. Please reach out if you have any questions!
